Ski Resorts

One of the outdoor activities to be enjoyed in Gatlinburg is skiing. Skiing through the snow makes you feel refreshing and is a good exercise too.

The Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort is the only ski resort in the Gatlinburg. It is located on the 1001 Parkway, Gatlinburg. There are 8 ski trails namely oberchute, bear run, castle run, alpine way, cub way, ski school grizzly and mogul ridge. The 8 ski trails are provided with two service squads and double chairlift which enables you to be out of lift lines and over the slopes.

It offers winter skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, indoor ice rink, scenic chair lift, alpine slides, go karts, water raft rides, black bear habitat, fudge shops and restaurants. The snow making equipment blankets completely when the temperature drops.

The highest slope is about 3300 feet, the base elevation being 2700 feet and the vertical drop about 600 feet. Whether you are a beginner or an expert the ski resort offers you both. You can enjoy your aerial tramway in open lift drifting along the Great Smoky Mountains. You will feel the thrill in it. Along with this you can also enjoy the scenic chairlift which is one of the South’s largest chairlifts.

The ice rink is a very large ice board located at the centre of the mall. The Ober mall has an amusement park inside it. It offers a variety of games and sports for people of all groups. It consists of carousel, indoor ice skating, bungee run, arcade and redemption centre, kiddie land’ wildlife encounter and Zeke’s play shooting range.

You can also shop while you ski at the Ober mall. You can fill your pockets with various homemade candies, skiing materials and can even have a ski course at the Snow Ski School.
