The Rock City Gardens, Chattanooga has a long history spanning nearly 8 decades. Carter was the man responsible to take Rock City Gardens all around America in a novel way. Clark Byers, a young sign painter was engaged to travel across the highways of the nation and offer to paint farmer’s barns wherever they existed at vantage points. The deal was that in exchange for the offer the farmers would allow the painter to put place 3 simple words prominently on the Barns. These words were “See Rock City”. By the end of the decade this simple advertising medium started paying results and more and more people started visiting Rock City gardens.
