Smokies starter kit is available at the Park’s entrance for about 5$. This is very handy for first time visitors. It comes with trail map, day hike map, auto touring map, newfound gap road auto tour booklet, Clingmans Dome booklet, Cades Cove tour booklet, Laurel Falls natural trail guide and several safety instruction fliers to make your tour a pleasant one.

There are a few donation booths kept in the park. You can donate as you wish as all the rangers are volunteers and are not paid. The donated money is used for the development and maintenance of the park.

Apart from the regular attractive in Gatlinburg there are many ghost tours, walking tours etc.

Ashville haunted ghost tour is a 90 minute goose fleshing tour. The timings are 9 pm from March 10 through October and 7 pm only Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from November through December.

Historic Mont ford walking tour is 90 min walking tour among the various architectural styles like the Greek, Gothian and Victorian. It is open on all days except Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am.

Rafting down the Lower Pigeon River with full guidance is an exciting experience.

The Independence Day of the state falls on July 4th. It is marked with first parade at12.01am on July 4. It attracts some 80000 people from around the world with all colorful parades and music.
