Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park

The 1937 Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park is comprised in 13 acres in the Downtown area of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Formerly, this zoo was known as the Warner Park Zoo. Notable among the exhibits at the zoo is the Himalayan passage which is home for the Red Pandas at the zoo. Though Chattanooga is among the smallest accredited zoos, for indoor Red Panda exhibits, the Himalayan passage at the zoo is the largest anywhere in the world. The passage was also expanded to accommodate habitats for Hanuman Langurs and Snow Leopards.

Among other major exhibits is the Gombe Forest Exhibit ($2.1million) which houses the 5 Chimpanzees at the zoo. This indoor/outdoor exhibit was built in 2001 chiefly to house Hank who is the famous and long time resident of the zoo. The Gombe Forest exhibit is also home for the other 4 Chimps.
