Chattanooga Nature Center
If you belong to the clan of adventurous travelers, love being in the middle of Mother Nature and wilderness, you should place the Chattanooga Nature Center on top of your Chattanooga travel itinerary. The center has on display some 30 native species that include threatened and endangered species too. Some of the inmates at the center cannot return to their natural habitats because they have been severely impacted by humans. The center therefore provides them home, food, housing and of course excellent care.
The Red Wolf is among the most endangered animals and some 300 are left living in free roaming monitored environments in North Carolina, in zoos and nature centers. The 2 breeding pairs at this center and the Species Survival Plan (SSP) have helped in the center being recognized as the designated breeding site for these - the Red wolves.

But, for those who travel to Chattanooga, the Nature center has more on offer. Paddler’s Perch is a unique cabin accommodation of 625 square foot which perches alongside the historic Lookout Creek. The center rents it out for overnight stay and you can imagine what to expect out of such a unique accommodation in the night in the middle of all that wilderness around you.
Do make sure that you have the necessary reservations before landing in Chattanooga. The cabin accommodates a maximum of 8 people at a time and without advance reservations, you are sure to miss the enjoyment. Those looking to add to the exciting experience can take a 4.5 mile boat trip from Coolidge Park to the center. Alternatively, you can also use an automobile from Downtown to reach the center in about 15 minutes.
The center also rents its facilities for birthday parties, social and family events. You can gather more details on this from the facility rental link provided here.
