The crest of the Smoky Mountains is nearly a mile above the foothills providing a wide range of topography for a variety of birds to inhabit. The national park has some campgrounds like Cosby and Elkmont where you can camp amongst the wilderness. Some are based on reservations and some other a first come first serve basis.

For whitewater rifting guided trips are available down the Big Pigeon River and other regional rivers.

Winter Activities: The Ober Gatlinburg is the only skiing resort in Tennessee with 8 ski slopes from beginning to advance with natural and manmade snow slopes.

Kids’ Fun: The kids can have by taking a ride in an open wagon around the Cades Cove. They enjoy a wide range from the Track, the Smoky Mountain Fun, Smoky Mountain Scavenger Adventure etc.
