Nashville Zoo Hours Information

Nashville Zoo was first opened in Joelton in 1990, and moved to Grassmere in 1996 after the merger with Grassmere Wildlife Park. Covering an area of 200 acres, Nashville Zoo has showcased perfectly the diversity of the wildlife and provided a number of opportunities for the guests to interact with the nature.

The zoo opens throughout the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. From March 15 to October 13, the zoo is operated at 9 am to 6 pm. October 14 through March 14, the zoo is opened to the public from 9 am and closed at 4 pm.

It is worth noting that the zoo will be closed unannounced due to inclement weather.

- Animal Shows leads you to recognize the animals from the globe during the fun-packed educational shows. The show season runs roughly from March to October, including Meet the Locals, Extreme Animals and Few and Far Between. Meet the Locals starts at 11 am Monday through Sunday from March 15 to October 10. The specific time schedule of the two shows left is as follows:

- From March 15 to May 30, Extreme Animals is showcased on weekends at 1:30 pm, and Few and Far Between also gives performance only on Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 pm.

- From May 31 to September 6, Extreme Animals and Few and Far Between are both available throughout a week except Tuesday. Extreme Animals starts at 1:30 pm and the Few & Far Between is at 3:30 pm.

- From September 7 to October 10, these two shows are only available on weekends, respectively at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

- Grassmere Historic Home is a tour to the Historic Croft Home which is located at the Historic Farm area of Nashville Zoo. The discovering tour starts at 10 am daily and the last trip begins at 3 pm. Each tour lasts for half an hour and the Home will be closed during the winter.

- Bird Awareness Day refers to May 7 which is dedicated to celebrating the fabulous journeys of migratory birds between the North America and Central and South America. All activities, such as Keeper Chats and Amphitheater Shows, will be free on this day from 10 am to 2 pm as well as the zoo admission.

- Senior Day falls on May 13 and September 16, starting from 9 am to 4 pm. During this stretch of time, all seniors of 65 years and over can receive free admission to the zoo and free refreshment at Zoofari Cafe and Zoo's concession stands.
