Overview of Road and Traffic Conditions in Nashville
Nashville is a good place to travel but knowing about the road and traffic conditions is very important for the tourists so that they can save their time, money and make the most of the their vacation. The Nashville traffic is already made famous by Robert Altman in his film 'Nashville', which opens with a scene of a huge traffic jam in Nashville city. Needless to say, the traffic here can result in wastage of time, especially during rush hours as like in other cities. However with the increase in population one needs to live and deal with such situations.
There are many roads under construction and which may open only after the construction work is over. Outlined below are some roads which you should avoid while travelling in Nashville. The 12th Avenue N where the flood damage repair is going on is shut between Charlotte Ave and Church St.
The I-65 at Rosa L Parks Blvd has some construction work going, therefore intermittently blocking of lanes is expected. The road can be accessed between 9pm-5am as the traffic is less and there is no blocking of any road. The road is expected to function fully from end of October.
Besides the road conditions, there are some hotspots of traffic which should be avoided during rush hours. The I-65, I-24, I-40, SR-155 North Side, SR-155 Eastside etc are some of the roads which you should avoid during high traffic jam.
Therefore well in advance about the traffic and road conditions can prove to be very vital in order to stay away from the tensions of road jams.
