
Steeped in Historic Value in an Nashville Historic Plantation Mansion - Belle Meade Plantation
This wonderful plantation is spread over 30 acres and approximately 6 miles driving distance from Nashville, TN. Built in the mid 1800s there is a mansion that is the top draw attraction of this plantation. This was once very famous for its thoroughbred champion horses.
This is a very old place of historic value and was built by John Harding in 1816. The entire mansion on the plantation is open to exploration and has restored rooms as per the original plans and specifications.
It is advised that you opt for the group tour which is inclusive of free wine tasting sessions from the winery based on the plantation. You can sample three different varieties of wines namely the Carriage House, Blackberry and Muscadine wines. The staff at the museum prides themselves on the kind of food you can find only at the Meade. If pork, steaks are your favorites and you want the authentic taste then this is the place to be.
Visitor timings to this fantastic place are from 9am to 5pm every Monday through Saturday. While Sunday timings are from 11 am to 5pm with the gate closing at 4pm since require a minimum of an hour to fully enjoy what the museum has to offer.
The tickets for the Meade plantation are available online with adults, seniors of 65 years and above and students being charged at $16, $14 and $10 respectively. Children under 5 have free admission and if strolling on its ground is the only thing on your mind then its $10 per head.
