Currently directed by Susan H. Edwards, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, Tennessee serves both as a museum and a center dedicated to the Fine Arts. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts was founded in the year 2001. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts forms an integral part of the tourist scene and is recommended by art patrons from around the globe.

Located at 919 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville now occupies the address that was once recognized as that of the central post office of the town. Once the post office was shifted to another location owing the growing needs of an advancing town, the original building was no longer used in the same capacity as before. Under the aegis of the Frist Foundation the building began to be converted into a museum dedicated to the arts.

With a gallery covering an estimated 24,000 square feet, the Frist Center promoted visual art pieces created by regional, local, national and even international artists. The exhibitions at the Frist Center are not like those at conventional museums where the galleries contain permanent collections all around the year. Rather, the aim is to develop new exhibitions from time to time and also to provide a platform at which exhibitions embarking upon Nashville Tennessee travel can be showcased.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is open to the public all seven days of the week for all those who travel Nashville TN. From Monday to Wednesday the Center is open from 10 am to 5:30 pm. On Thursday and Friday, the Center is open from 10 am to 9 pm. On Saturday it's open from 10 am. to 5:30 pm while on Sunday one can visit between 1 pm 5:30 pm.
